Kids Crafts - Keep 'em Happily Busy
No matter what age children are, they can always be entertained with kids crafts. There are so many fun things that kids can do with just a few items that you have on hand. Any time of the year, there are great ideas to keep you kids busy on a rainy or snowy day or just one of those days that they seem a little bored. Scrap booking One of the most popular kids crafts right now is scrap booking. This is a great idea because it is fun and possible at any age. All it takes is a few family pictures, a background page and some stickers or cutouts and some glue. The kids can use their own imagination to arrange the pictures in a playful manner and then decorate their page with the stickers, cutouts, and designs available. Scrapbooking Grandma and Grandpa The kids can have fun taking pictures of their friends or family with a digital camera and even make electronic scrapbook pages on the computer. This is an idea that works for older children who love to post pictures on face book or to email pictures to their grandparents or friends who are far away. Younger children can use a disposable camera and then have fun arranging the pictures they took to tell stories or document their lives. It is a wonderful family activity or one that they can do on their own. Crayon Ironing Kids crafts is also fun for all ages, and takes nothing more than some wax paper, some crayons, or crayon pieces and some construction paper. One of my most cherished Christmas decorations is a Christmas craft my daughter did while in preschool using this method. She outlined her handprint several times then put them in a wreath formation. Then added crayon shavings and covered it with wax paper (or mac tac if you don?t want to use an iron) and ironed over it, melting the crayon bits into a beautifully colored design. Easter or Christmas baskets With just a can and some construction paper, stickers and glitter glue children can make a beautiful basket by gluing the construction paper around the can then decorating the construction paper with stickers, drawings, and pictures. A handle can then be made by gluing two strips of construction paper together and attaching them to the can. Without the handle, you could use this craft idea to make a pencil holder. Thanksgiving Centerpieces A thanksgiving or special family dinner can be made even more enjoyable by a centerpiece made by the children. A basket or piece of flower arranging foam can be used to stick items that your children find while going on an adventure walk. Have them gather pretty leaves, twigs, and decorations that their imagination can picture in their centerpiece and have them lovingly arrange them by sticking them in the basket or into the foam. Add spray glitter glue or add stickers, pictures and designs that they feel will make this piece of art their masterpiece. Paper Plate Crafts There are lots of things that kids can make with paper plates. From masks to collages, all they need is some crayons, pictures, glitter and some imagination. There are thousands of crafts that your child can make. The sky is the limit. The only thing that will stand in their way is their imagination. From holiday kids crafts for special occasions like Christmas, birthdays, Easter or Thanksgiving crafts to everyday summer or winter crafts. The world is full of things that can be made into beautiful pieces of art. You may have the next Picasso or Rembrandt you just need to give them the time and supplies and let their minds take over.
